Niagara University is a Catholic university in the Vincentian tradition, founded and sponsored by the Vincentian Fathers and Brothers since 1856. NU is the oldest Vincentian university in the United States.

As followers of St. Vincent de Paul, a 17th-century Catholic priest who inspired and organized his contemporaries to serve the poor and oppressed through systemic change and hands-on service.

This aspect of Niagara University’s identity is reflected in our dedication to service learning which is connected to many aspects on campus, but one in particular is through club involvement.

If you participate in any club on campus, you must complete at least 5 hours of community service each semester, which you will log into IMPACT Connects which you can also find in MyNU. The club you are involved with should have volunteer opportunities, but you can always find services that need your help through IMPACT Connects.
