Policies

The policies of the Niagara University Library

Library Services for Emeritus Professors

Retired faculty members granted Emeritus status are valued members of the Niagara University community. The Library is pleased to extend a range of services to support their continued scholarship.

Borrowing Privileges

Emeritus professors enjoy the same borrowing privileges as current faculty for circulating materials.

Interlibrary Loan services are available to emeritus professors. Requests should be limited to reasonable volumes that align with Library staff capacity and budget constraints.

Electronic Resources

Remote access is provided to most databases and electronic resources, subject to vendor licensing agreements. Such access is subject to periodic renewal. Resources that require additional licensing fees are not available to emeritus faculty.

Research Assistance

Emeritus professors are welcome to consult with librarians for research assistance.

Spaces

Emeritus professors are welcome to use the Library during staffed hours, including open seating, computers, and printers.

To prioritize space for current students, reservable study rooms are not available for emeritus professors.
