Remla Parthasarathy, senior lecturer in the social work department, recently published "Creating a Common Understanding of Culture: What Legal Professionals Need to Know" in Domestic Violence Report. Here is the abstract:
"The article discusses the importance to understand the culture of the victims of domestic violence. It examines the influence of culture to the behavior of individuals in the community particularly for the victims of domestic violence. It also cites the impact of several factors to the cultural experiences of an individual including gender, racial and class differences."
