The NU Library User Education Program recently presented a poster at the WNY/O ACRL "Assessment In Action" Conference at the RIT Inn & Conference Center in Henrietta, NY. The poster was a collaborative effort of Sarah Akers (Intern), Glen Benedict (Intern), Bridget Doloresco (Outreach Librarian), and Melissa Langridge (User Education Coordinator).
The poster, "Using Free Online Tools in Information Literacy Instruction: Tips for Making Your Life Easier!" showcased tools that can be used to incorporate active learning and assessment in library instruction. The poster shared examples of tools used by NU Library, including Kahoot! and Guide on the Side. The poster session was well-attended, as many librarians had not heard of either of these tools but showed excitement about their potential use in their own instruction programs.
