Dr. Shannon Hodges, Professor of Counseling and Coordinator of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program, has authored the book Creating a Meaningful Life: A practical Guide for Counselors, Therapists and other Helping Professionals. The book uses techniques from mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT) to answer some of life’s basic questions. It includes strategies such as journaling, grounding exercises, and cognitive self-talk restructuring.
The book is available from NU Library in two formats: We have a print copy, currently located in our New Book Display on the main floor, and available to check out. An ebook version is also available through our Ebook Central database (PurplePass login required if off-campus).
