EDU236A Students Create "The Teacher Toolbox"

  • December 9, 2024

This semester, Chris Plantone and Dr. Paul Vermette's EDU236A students brought Frank Lyman’s 100 Teaching Ideas That Transfer and Transform Learning to life through an interactive and collaborative initiative called The Teacher Toolbox.

This project challenges pre-service teachers to delve into Lyman’s transformative teaching strategies, adapt them to real-world classrooms, and create engaging lesson plans and activities. Each student developed a practical lesson plan based on a teaching idea, complete with a media component such as worksheets or illustrations. Using Padlet as a collaborative platform, students categorized teaching ideas into—Thinking, Literacy, Voice, and Engagement—to craft educational experiences that inspire.

Explore the innovative strategies, lesson ideas, and the creativity of our pre-service teachers on our that is housed in The Teacher Toolbox.
