Dr. Pinto's Book Nominated for Award
Dr. Laura Pinto's book, Curriculum Reform in Ontario (University of Toronto Press. 2012), is one of 11 that made the 2013 shortlist for The Speaker’s Book Award, a prize issued by the Ontario Legislature. The award recognizes works by Ontario authors reflecting the diverse culture and rich history of the province and of its residents. Awards are given to books from each of two categories - general non-fiction or public policy - with special consideration to works focusing on Ontario’s parliamentary heritage and on provincial political discourse. The winners will be announced at an awards reception to be held at the Ontario Legislature in the spring of 2014. Dr. Pinto is an Assistant Professor of Education in NU's Ontario Educational Studies Department.
