Computers
Desktop Computers
- The Library maintains a Computer Training Lab on the basement level of the building to the left. It is used to train students how to use Library databases to do research. However, when it is not being used for training purposes, the Lab is available for students to work individually using Library databases, the Internet, or Microsoft Office.
- There are many additional desktop computers throughout the building that you may use.
- There is one Mac computer in the reference area on the first floor.
Laptop Computers
You may bring your own laptop and connect to the wireless campus network, or you may borrow one at the Circulation Desk.
By presenting your NU Student ID card and a second form of identification (such as a driver's license) at the Circulation Desk, you can check out a laptop for use within the building. Headphones and USB storage devices are also available for loan. The loan length for laptops and accessories is two hours.
The Laptop Lending Program also takes advantage of wireless technology. The Internet is available via a wireless network throughout much of the building, and for areas not well-covered, you can plug directly into a network jack.
When you borrow a laptop, you must understand and agree to the Laptop Lending Agreement and sign it. This form will be provided to you at the Circulation Desk.
Printers
Black & white and color printers are available.
- To print in black & white, you need a valid NU ID card.*
- Color printouts are 25 cents per page and must be paid for in cash.
*Niagara University students and employees, if you need an ID card, please visit Room 108 in St. Vincent's Hall. If you are not a member of the Niagara University community, you may purchase a printing card at the Circulation Desk for $4 (the card costs $1 and has $3 preloaded printing money).
