Based on a patron's comment, the Library recently added some new romance novels to its Recreational Reading Collection. Here are brief synopses and review excerpts of a few of these books - just in time for Valentine's Day!

Again the Magic by Lisa Kleypas is about a passionate, unforgivable and life-changing transgression between Lady Aline Marsden and a family servant named John McKenna. Publisher's Weekly said: "All in all, this is another solid effort from an author who has established herself as one of the premier names in the genre."

The Cinderella Rules by Donna Kauffman is a contemporary romance about a woman who is more comfortable in jeans and boots than in an evening gown. But when she reluctantly agrees to get a Cinderella makeover to help her father woo an important client, she gets much more than she bargained for when she finds herself choosing between two Prince Charmings! Library Journal said: "Sure to be a hit with romance readers."

The Fairy Godmother by Mercedes Lackey is a romantic fantasy. Young Elena was supposed to be a Cinderella, but she ends up being a Fairy Godmother instead. One problem: Fairy Godmothers aren't supposed to fall in love! Library Journal said: "Original, fascinating, and full of marvelous potential..."

In Hard Day's Knight by Katie MacAlister, an unemployed software engineer goes to a Renaissance Fair and meets her very own Knight (in tainted armor)! Booklist said, "MacAlister's latest fresh, funny, and fabulously sexy contemporary romance is pure fun."

The Rocky Road to Romance by Janet Evanovich is about the romance between Daisy, a fill-in traffic reporter at a radio station, and Steve, the radio station's owner. The Washington Post said: "If you have ever sneered at a 'supermarket romance,' do yourself a favor and read this one."

Other new romantic novels just added are The Bride's Necklace by Kat Martin, Can You Keep a Secret? by Sophie Kinsella, Devil Takes a Bride by Gaelen Foley, Kissing Your Ex by Brooke Stevens, Married to the Viscount by Sabrina Jeffries, The Trouble With Harry by Katie MacAlister and Wait Until Midnight by Amanda Quick.

These books are shelved in the Recreational Reading Collection located on the first floor of the Library.
