Do you like musical theatre? Do you sing or play the piano? If yes, then you should know that the Library has a growing collection of scores with piano/vocal selections! Here are some of the titles the Library added to its collection within the last year or so.
- Avenue Q (Oversize M1508.L76 A84x 2004)
This adult musical won Tony Awards in 2004 for Best Musical, Best Original Score and Best Book of a Musical. Songs include "What Do You Do with a B.A. in English" and "I Wish I Could Go Back to College."
- The Boy From Oz (Oversize M1508 .A45 .B6x 2003)
X-Man Hugh Jackman played the late Oscar-winning songwriter Peter Allen in this Broadway musical.
- Mamma Mia! (Oversize M1508 .A54 2005)
This popular musical features 22 songs made popular by ABBA, including "Dancing Queen," "Does Your Mother Know," "Take a Chance on Me" and "Voulez Vous."
- Pete Townshend's Tommy (Oversize M1508 .T69x 1996)
This score contains piano, vocal and guitar arrangements and the complete lyrics to songs from this rock opera by Pete Townshend of The Who.
- The Producers (Oversize M1508.B76 P7x 2001)
This musical based on the 1968 Mel Brooks film of the same name won a record 12 Tony awards and starred Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick.
- Wicked (Oversize M1508.S38 W53x 2004)
Based on the novel by Gregory Maguire, this popular musical is a prequel to The Wizard of Oz and is about the girls who grow up and become the Wicked Witch and the Good Witch.
Please note: these scores (and others!) are shelved in the Oversize collection located on the basement level of the Library.
