Blowing out the Walls: Information Literacy Beyond the Traditional Library

The Western New York/Ontario chapter of the Association of College & Research Libraries (WNY/O ACRL) Fall 2009 conference will explore collaborative activities involving information literacy. By transforming and developing new technologies, and through outreach to diverse academic populations, information literacy activities offered by libraries have come a long way from the lecture style days of bibliographic instruction. Through collaborative activities libraries are involved in teaching and are contributing to a collective knowledge base about many different types of information literacy. Dr. Corinne Laverty, currently Head of the Education Library at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, will deliver the Keynote Address:
